2019-2020 Social Work Graduate
Tania Ivette Barr
Master's in Social Work
What is your favorite thing about BYU?
I initially applied to BYU because I wanted to receive an education that was in accord with my religious beliefs. However, throughout this program, I learned to expand my understanding of social issues and taking the perspective of others. I learned to be less quick to misjudge and more prompt to listen. I learned to acknowledge that my perspective has also many biases and I need to be mindful of them.
Who would you like to say thanks to?
My professors in the Social Work program and our wonderful staff, Charlene Clark and Nanci Shumpert, for their support.
What are your plans for after BYU?
I plan to take the LCSW licensing test and start applying for jobs
