Bachelor's in Social Science Teaching

What is your favorite thing about BYU?

My favorite thing about BYU is the comradery on campus. People are always saying hello, holding doors open, having conversations with one another, etc. Some of my best friends were once strangers that sat down next to me in a huge lecture hall and just said "Hi". No matter who you are or what walk of life you come from you're never alone at BYU.

What was the best learning experience you had?

One of the best experiences I've had at BYU was my History 276 class. That course was my intro to teaching class, and I remember working with my instructor and peers on an education project and at that moment I realized that this was where I was supposed to be and that teaching is my calling in life.

What/Who are you grateful for as you reflect on your college experience?

As I reflect back on my experience at BYU, I am grateful for the opportunity I had to go to a school where the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is so present. I appreciated that my education was influenced by the gospel. I feel like the Church's influence in my education will help me stand out from other professionals. I am grateful for the support of my husband, parents, siblings, and extended family. Without their constant encouragement, I would not have made it to this point.
