I loved the quality of people that I was able to learn with and interact on a daily basis. The professors, counselors, and other students were so wonderful, and I had many great experiences developing relationships.
What was the best learning experience you had?
My best learning experiences were experiential. I loved my student teaching, practicum, and other opportunities I had to see what it was like to be a teacher.
What/Who are you grateful for as you reflect on your college experience?
My wife, Marissa. She sacrificed so much to put me through school. We had two more children while I was in school, for a total of 4, while she worked full-time, and got her own graduate degree. She was a super-hero. She helped me through some very trying times in my schooling and my mental health. I owe her everything. I could not have accomplished this without her, and I wish I could truly show her how grateful I am.
What's next for you?
I am currently working part-time teaching ESOL and Civics to adult students. I am loving this opportunity to teach these wonderful people. Their excitement for learning is amazing! I hope to soon have a full-time position teaching at a high school or middle school, but I am grateful to have this teaching job.
