2020-2021 FHSS Graduate

Marianne Aboussou

Bachelor's in Sociology

What is your favorite thing about BYU?

My favorite thing about about BYU is the opportunity to pray before class. It was a huge blessing to me to be surrounded by people with the same religious afflictions. I felt comfortable expressing how concepts I was learning in class related to the Gospel.

What was the best learning experience you had?

There were several wonderful learning experiences so I would not say there was one that was the best. A culmination of my professors, peers, and club activities made my learning experience at BYU memorable and valuable.

What/Who are you grateful for as you reflect on your college experience?

I’m grateful for my professors, my peers, and my husband because without them I would not be the woman I am today. Each of them pushed me in different ways to exceed my own expectations, serve where I can, and be grateful for the opportunities afforded me.

I had the opportunity to do an internship with Judge Romney, and a vocal performance for the FHSS graduation ceremony.

What's next for you?

Graduate school is next for me and I am excited for the opportunity to continue to learn.
