My favorite thing about BYU is the way that students are supported educationally. There are so many opportunities to get involved with the community and build your resume in ways that other colleges can't.
What was the best learning experience you had?
The best learning experience I had was being a part of the BYU Pediatric Health research team. I not only learned about the process of conducting research, but received great mentorship and learned so much about my career field.
What/Who are you grateful for as you reflect on your college experience?
I'm most grateful for all the people that believed in me. My parents, husband, professors, mentors, and friends were my greatest assets in my success. Many times I believed I couldn't do it, but these people told me that I could, and I did!
Besides being a research assistant, I was able to be a teaching assistant for a statistics course. I also had the opportunity to volunteer at different places in the community, including the Utah State Hospital pediatric unit, and TeensAct.
What's next for you?
I will be attending the Master of Social Work program this fall here at BYU in the clinical emphasis. I'm excited to apply everything that I've learned in my undergraduate classes and out-of-classroom experiences to advocate for and serve underprivileged populations.
